This opening presents a unique opportunity for aspiring or moderately experienced planners to work with a private sector landscape architecture and planning studio that works largely with public sector partners on projects ranging from parks and open space planning, visioning processes, to community development planning. This is a salaried, full-time position.

Position Responsibilities:

The Planner at Anthropopulus Design and Planning will provide support to the planning studio on various projects under the guidance of staff, with some project management opportunities. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Technical and public-facing writing for reports, plans, memos, and other deliverables

  • Collecting and analyzing data for various planning projects

  • Researching and documenting findings for plan review and case studies

  • Preparing templates, maps, graphics, and other content for planning documents

  • Developing outreach materials including flyers, social media posts, and boards

  • Support report and plan development

  • Assisting with community engagement activities and outreach

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Community and Regional Planning, Urban Planning, Geography, Public Policy, or a related field.

  • Basic understanding of community and regional planning principles

  • Strong, research, analytical, writing, and communication skills

  • Competency in various computer software programs including Microsoft Office and

  • Adobe Creative Suite

  • Experience with ArcGIS including spatial analysis, data management, and visual communication

  • The ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative environment

  • Ability to manage and prioritize work requests from multiple sources.

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, government officials and the public

Desired Experience

  • Specific knowledge relating to pertinent planning specialty such as transportation, community economic development, or land use

  • Competency in ArcGIS, including developing and editing GIS datasets, collecting and verifying field data, importing GIS data from various sources, troubleshooting data errors, interpreting/analyzing GIS data, and data visualization/mapping.
