Landscape Architecture Internship | National Park Service / by NMASLA

American Conservation Experience, a nonprofit Conservation Corps, in partnership with the National Park Service, is seeking one Landscape Architecture Accessibility Member to contribute to accessibility projects alongside Denver Service Center Planning Division Staff.

Position Overview: The Landscape Architect Accessibility Member position within the DSC Planning Division is aimed at advancing equitable access initiatives within the National Park Service (NPS). The member will join the DSC Planning Division, Landscape Architect team for the duration of the internship and collaborate with NPS park, regional, and WASO staff.

The member's primary role entails leading interviews with parks that have successfully completed DSC-facilitated accessibility planning processes and proposing process recommendations based on the interview outcomes. The majority of accessibility planning processes to review are Self-Evaluation and Transition Plans (SETPs). The member's responsibilities for this primary role encompass background research, crafting interview questions, scheduling and conducting virtual interviews with NPS staff across the country, organizing results and developing recommendations for program and process improvements.

Start Date: May 2024 - June 2024 flexible

Estimated End Date: 16 weeks after start

Location Details/Description: Fully remote, working with the Denver Service Center Planning Division.
